Introduction
The Hāwea Community Association (HCA) is a volunteer-run incorporated society representing the residents and ratepayers of Lake Hāwea, Hāwea Flat, John Creek and the surrounding rural area. Our role is to hold and advance the community's shared vision, to represent the community to local and central government and other bodies, and to support local initiatives. Sub-Committees and Projects
We represent Hāwea on issues that affect the area and consult the community so that its views are heard by the bodies making decisions. We also run standing sub-committees, such as the ANZAC Committee, the foreshore working group, the Playground Development Committee, and the Hāwea Green Waste Centre. Volunteer
If you’ve got a bit of time on your hands and you’re looking for a feel-good volunteer role to directly benefit your community, we might have just the thing for you. From planting trees and lakefront management through to admin roles, there’s always plenty to do.
Doing it for the love.
The Hāwea Community Association is a non-profit, volunteer run organisation. Do you live in Hāwea? Run a business in Hāwea? Are you a Hāwea ratepayer? If so, you are already a part of our community, and we encourage you to become an official member of the Hāwea Community Association. Our annual membership subscription is $20 per household, per year and helps us support and represent the community. Your generosity and support is much appreciated.
