Foreshore Reserve Working Group - (aka ‘Thursday’ Group) - November Report

Tena Koutou Katoa

Tasks for this month : Weeding, mulching, trimming, checking plants from Plane Table through to Kirsty’s Beach.   Good to see Manuka flowering in the small stand above Kirsty’s beach.  Some shrubs planted in damper areas, and storm water drains tidied round the plants and edges.

To do: Weed below Plane Table, new plantings at Scotts Beach, and one last check below the Flora Dora track.

Irrigation: All completed and ready for use over the summer break, some on a timer.

Spraying: Completed by Thursday Group designated member today back at Flora Dora banks, plus blackberry in Bore Dell.

Still waiting for QLDC to spray below the Contact Energy fence.

We plan to have the last working day on either November 25th or Dec 2nd (? Power cut all day).

End of year function/luncheon planned for Dec 9th (power cut for some of Hawea but not our place, the venue).

Vaccination certificates:  members are encouraged to download them.

Overall we have been very lucky with the weather, Covid-19 Delta restrictions, and a very committed group of volunteers.  My grateful thanks in these trying times.

Total hours = 66
